Jagadish has been working on "Integrating Axiomatic Design and Robust Design" the two design methodologies pioneered by Nam P Suh & Genichi Taguchi respectively since Fall 05 as part of his graduate research with Dr Ken Ragsdell. The research has to do with finding out similarities and differences between these two methods, integrating the two and demonstrating its effectiveness by applying this to a practical case study like Automotive braking system, steering system etc. The work till date has been updated as a poster on his webpage. His field of interest is Quality Engineering aptly reflected by the courses he did till date like Taguchi System of Quality Engineering, Statistical Process Control, Tolerance Design, Design & Analysis of Experiments. He is currently working on two papers titled "Integrating Assembly Feasibility with Information Axiom and Quality Loss Function" and "Similarities and differences between Axiomatic design and Robust design" for ASME winter conference in November. He is the current president of Missouri S&T Chapter of American Society for Quality and a student member of ASME.
Jagadish worked in General Motors India for two years 2003-2005 in World Wide Purchasing Group of GM as a Vendor Development Engineer and acquired knowledge in many automotive component manufacturing systems during the course of launch of Chevrolet Tavera and Chevrolet Aveo in India. Prior to that he worked as a project trainee in GM India for one year (2002-2003) and was actively involved in Localization of Opel Corsa and Purchasing of sheet metal parts for Chevrolet Tavera. He received his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering & M.Sc in Biological Sciences from Birla Institute of Technology & Science Pilani, Rajasthan India in 2003.
