KC Snyder

K.C. Snyder graduated in May 2006 with his M.S. in Engineering Management with emphasis in Systems Engineering, Finance, and Quality. He has a UMR Systems Engineering Certificate. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UMR in 1996. K.C. is now an engineer at Baker Hughes-Centrilift in Claremore, OK where he designs deep well electric pumps for the energy industry.

Prior to returning to graduate school, he worked at Eagle Picher Technologies in Joplin, MO for five years as a Project Engineer for aerospace battery systems. At Eagle Picher he designed, tested, and performed vibration and thermal analysis for flight battery systems for Boeing, Lockheed-Martin and NASA. He also researched new battery materials and published several papers on the subject. After leaving Eagle Picher, he worked as a Design Engineer for Leggett & Platt in Carthage, MO where he designed furniture mechanisms. His most recent position was at INDEECO in St. Louis, where he designed HVAC systems and control panels.

He has extensive solid modeling experience with Pro/E, Solidworks, and AutoCad, and other computer applications including HVAC design, CNC programming, Enterprise Resource Planning, 3D sheetmetal design and Microsoft Office. He is the Webmaster for the Design Engineering Center and uses Macromedia Dreamweaver to generate content.

K.C. is a member of Pi Kappa Phi and Pi Kapp Alumni Housing Corps and has served in numerous capacities. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi and AIAA. He was previously the News Editor and a staff writer for the Missouri Miner student newspaper. His wife, Melissa, is a math teacher and they have one daughter, Melanie, 4. K.C. enjoys bicycling, weightlifting, camping, canoeing, fishing, and computer games.
